“An underground Japanese noise-punk band who play ear drum bursting, feedback drenched punk rock. Influenced by Japanese groups like GUITAR WOLF, ZAZEN BOYS and THE STALIN. With just a bass with two strings, a minimalist drum kit, and frontman Tomomi – this is a wild ride you don’t want to miss.” -DoTheBay

ETOS (HIROSHIMA)
ETOS is a four-piece instrumental rock band hailing from Hiroshima, weaving restless rhythms and atmospheric tension into soundscapes that sit between math-rock and post-punk. Inspired by Tristeza and Don Caballero, they channel raw emotion into intricate, wordless storytelling.

Originally formed in the early 2010s, ETOS released their debut album in 2013. After a period of hiatus and the arrival of a new drummer, the band found themselves navigating life’s turbulence through music. Now, for the very first time, ETOS is bringing their raw, resonant performances to the United States. The band’s music reflects both intensity and restraint, channeling daily struggles into dynamic compositions. In their own words, “we will unleash our daily depression with our sound.”

RIP ROOM
Once described as “dance music for people who don’t like to dance,” Rip Room prefers the humble designation “dance music for people who like to dance … but are also bummed out”.

This three-piece from San Francisco play high-energy art punk with a math-y, prog edge — propulsive rhythms and piercing lyrics, but with a sense of buoyancy — wolves in sheep’s clothing.

The band released their first full length LP with Spartan Records and is currently working on their next record.

FEEFAWFUM
Oakland’s FEEFAWFUM is a formation of Bay Area weirdos featuring members of Gumby’s Junk and The Brankas. Short, intricate songs teeter restlessly between post-punk malaise and pop-punk euphoria. Their most recent album, 100, has been described as an “unpredictable tour de force of nervous noise, technical musicianship, and startling hooks” (Post-Trash) and “most certainly one of DIY culture’s flagship releases of 2023” (Sun|13).
FEEFAWFUM is Farley Miller (guitar, voice), Kevin Sullivan (bass, voice), Emma Greenbaum (Mellotron, voice), Theo Slavin (guitar), and Eli Streich (drums).
FRIDAY 10/3 SACRAMENTO CA SOMEONE’S HOUSE @etos_ FRIDAY 10/3
SACRAMENTO CA
SOMEONE’S HOUSE

@etos_hrsm from Hiroshima are coming to the US for just (3) norcal shows and Sac is lucky to be one of them! They’re part of the same vibrant scene that brought us the almighty Usagi Bunnyboy last year, so you know this one has the NEVER MISS IT stamp all over it.

@riproom from San Francisco returns, along with local support from @mpf916 and @wrungst ! Aftershock could never dream of playing with this kind of heat. Also your phone won’t get stolen and it’s byob, so +100 to DIY.

Etos has a brand new album out called “Great Force” - look it up on streaming services and turn the volume up.

Wonderful flyer by @datgrain !!

Details: $10-15 donation, 7p: 🚪 8p: 🎶
DM any of the bands for the address if this is your first time to SOMEONE’s HOUSE (in OP!)

Hint: Loolowningen played there in May and the Wameki rocked it last year (with Rip Room!) - Sprain, Gumby’s Junk, Clear Capsule, Welcome Strawberry ETC.
Show will be in the backyard as usual, weather permitting.

Also:

If you’re in the bay area, consider checking out Etos at one of these:
